FAQ
What is ASGSA?
A: ASGSA stands for the Animal Science Graduate Student Association, a registered organization at UW Madison. Do not let the name fool you–it is not just for Animal Science Graduate students.
Who are the members?
A: People with an affiliation in some form with the Animal and Dairy Sciences Department (Research Assistants, Teaching Assistant, Project Assistant, Endocrine Reproductive Physiology (ERP), Biomedical, visiting scholar, post doc, etc.). We are not species-specific either!
What does this group do?
A: We provide opportunities for social interactions, coursework and research support, and professional development. Most of all, we are a laid-back group that is built around supporting each other. Graduate school is tough, and you do not have to go at it alone. We strive to create an open environment for students to bring up issues they are dealing with and create a place of comradery.
How to join?
A: No formal invitation or membership is required! Just come to meetings and start getting to know your fellow students. Typically, information about upcoming meetings and events is sent via the graduate listserve with ASGSA in the title by either the secretary or president.
Where to find information about the group?
A: Email any of the officer team or asgsaofficers2023-2024@office365.wisc.edu. Additionally, the group has a WIN page on the UW Madison, an instagram page, a Facebook page, and a discord page.
